Biography of Abrau Durso
All news three years ago, the Russian wine house "Abrau-Durso" became the distributor of the playful wines of its competitor-the Crimean New Light plant. Ironically up to a year of fate, both plants-both Abrau-Durso and the New Light-were the favorite brainchilds of one person, Prince Lev Sergeyevich Golitsyn. He arranged the first in his Crimean estate in the year, the second in M, in the incredibly beautiful corner of the Western Caucasus.
In this article, we wanted to tell about the “fathers of Russian winemaking”, about those who continued and developed the work of Prince Golitsyn, contributing to the progress of large Russian wine industries, and today that pleasing us with the guilt of the highest, world level.
Earth-under the forest, meadows and the steppe, only more than 7.2 thousand together with the first agronomist of the estate, the famous Czech vinogradar Franz Heyduk, Pilenko laid the vineyards of Rining varieties, Portuguese, Cabernet, Sovignon, Aligota, Pino Blan, Pino-Fran, Pino Gri and Portiguer traminer and Portgiezer from Germany and the environs of the veins took out in the year Franz Josephovich Heyuk.
Many ill-wishers considered the cultivation of grapes on these lands a useless venture and an empty waste of money, however, the estate of Abrau-Durso soon advanced among the best winery farms in the Russian Empire: at the Yalta exhibition of the wine of the Abrau-Durso factory, Crimean, which had previously been the unconditional leader in domestic winemaking.
Under his leadership, five cellars were built on the estate, each of which stored 10 thousand buckets of the drink. Prince Golitsin invited a group of French specialists to Russia, with the participation of which mountain tunnels were built, and 16 thousand bottles of wine were produced in the year. The first batch of Russian champagne Abrau-Durso was produced in the year, at that time the fault of the economy reached the highest quality.
At the All-Russian Industrial and Art Exhibition, held in Nizhny Novgorod, the Abrau-Durso winery was awarded the highest award-the right to image on bottles of the state emblem. Thus, Prince Lev Golitsyn began to be called the creator of Russian champagne, the ancestor of the industrial production of champagne wines in Russia and the founder of Russian winemaking in the Crimea. Viktor Dravini in the year, a Frenchman Viktor Dravigni was invited to the post of chief winemaker-Shampanist.
The champagne of Abrau-Durso began to be served to the royal table, and Dravigni was awarded Nicholas II with a golden clock and a golden cigarette case with a diamond eagle. The main winemaker of the estate of Abrau-Durso, Victor Dravini, spent up to a year. At that time, Abrau-Durso became a serious scientific center, headed by the head Anton Mikhailovich Frolov-Bagrev, a well-known vinode scientist, and the inventor of the reservoir production technology of sparkling wines for which he was awarded to the Stalin Prize in April.
The elite champagne had nothing to do with this method and was stored in the cool basements of Abrau, waiting in the wings, and most importantly-to be drunk somewhere in the Black Sea villa by some large boss, gourmet and gluttore. In the year, the People's Commissar of Food Industry Anastas Mikoyan even signed a decree on the creation of a collection and aged wines fund. The leaders of the party and government in wines were versed in and did not want to drink champagne made by the reservoir method of Charmat, preferring the CHAMPENOISE created according to the classic bottle method.
During the Great Patriotic War, the plant was evacuated. During the battles for Novorossiysk, much was damaged, but later restored. The grape economy survived the Great October Revolution, the Great Patriotic War, but during the collapse of the USSR, global reforms and the notorious decree on the fight against alcoholism and the destruction of vineyards, it almost ceased to exist.
The tornado of the year, as well as a flood, washing the vine from the chic lands on the banks of the Durso River, also contributed to the crisis. These natural and non-living cataclysms almost led to the death of the Champagne Vin-Durso champagne wines factory, this happened in the year, during a visit to the President of Putin. Now the French themselves can envy the technical equipment of the enterprise.
And the Russians, in turn, well remembered the French tradition to open champagne with an accurate blow of the saber. This special chic once famously, but not quite successfully demonstrated by the business ombudsman Boris Titov. And it was like that. Accepting the Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev in his year at his Khalus-Dürso Champagne Wine factory, he handed over to the Sable to his son Pavel, the chairman of the Board of Directors of the Russian Wine House of Abrau-Durso, an experienced saber from the French Sabre-Saber.
Titov Jr. opened the bottle many times, but this time there was a cotton, the fragments scattered in all directions, and the champagne spilled in front of the governor Alexander Tkachev-the bottle turned out to be defective. The hussar trick did not have any consequences for Paul or Boris Titov - he had close relations with the authorities, which is facilitated by his considerable investment in the Russian wine business.
In the year, the company of Boris Titov, carefully preserving the traditions of Russian champagne production, was released the first champagne wines awarded medals at the International Competition in London in the year. And today, after a century, Abrau-Durso’s wine is again supplied to ceremonial techniques in the Kremlin. In the year, the farm also became an official supplier of the Winter Olympic Games of the year in Sochi.
According to the results of the year, the revenue of Abrau-Durso amounted to million dollars, having increased almost 4 times from a year, for a year the company sold 23.5 million bottles of sparkling wine, of about 1.5 million-wine made according to expensive classical technology. Over the past five-year period, the former factory hotel has turned into a chic four-star hotel, where, in addition to the restaurant, the French gourmet-cafe with a view of the lake and mountains, there is also a simple “Soviet dining room”, in which a comprehensive lunch is served at a very democratic price of rubles.
This is the most visited single wine house around the world, ”Pavel is proud of, and quite deservedly. By the way, he was in Abrau-Durso and Vladimir Putin. In m, he came to Titov on an unofficial visit. Dressed in summer white trousers and a blue shirt, after a walk on the cellars, the president rolled on a catamaran on the lake, had dinner on the embankment in a barbecue bar and, judging by the photo remaining from the visit, was quite pleased with everything.
