Alexander himself was the first to say about Asia, and when he saw one of his paintings, where the breeze king, dressed in the ornament, with the crown, immediately showed who was the main one, I realized where it was not just warm-heat, not just something bright-but too juicy and orange. From his parents, he took their “academicism”, and already everything else was first from the environment, then from the art school.

He was then in the search for his “I”, but it was there that the origin of large series of painting and graphics occurred. Series auric person. Apricot girl. These are by no means classic still lifes with something laid out on the table in accordance with the rules of the composition-these are already very free abstract pictures. That period became the origin of his own style, his own topics and, of course, his own “I”. Actually, my own “I” had to not only be sought, but somewhere else to realize. But in this context I want to limit myself to only two of them. So, in the m year, by some miracle, he fell into a certain artistic hive in Bann Lane. They were led by an amazing person, Honored Artist of Karakalpakia Nikolai Izosimovich Kornilov, an artist, philanthropist, a collector of painting, graphics, sculptures, a journalist, an art critic who has been friends with Igor Savitsky, the creator of the Museum of Arts in Nukus.

In M, Brodsky met his namesake Sasha on Arbat Kornilov, with whom he had a common workshop in Tashkent. He brought his friend to the bathhouse, where he appeared before Kornilov Sr. And there was such a small dialogue: “Nikolai Izosimovich, do you remember me? And I remember you very small. But then a fire occurred in a bathhouse, but Sasha still managed to save the picture.

The question arose again about the workshop. And then a familiar photographer said that there is such an unusual “breathing” place in the Concertevsky Monastery.Of the “workers” in those days there was only one tiny gate church, there was a two-story yellow corps nearby, which was miraculously preserved, some buildings were preserved, and they had a school, communal apartments, and artists also settled.

There, Sasha Brodsky continued his creative searches. He participates in a wide variety of exhibitions, believing that any exhibition is always an opportunity to pick up and develop some new thoughts, it is always a holiday, a certain separation from real life. The creator of this gallery Svetlana Aleksandrovna Bolkhovitina, with whom he was friends for many years, somehow promised to introduce him to a very interesting person. It turned out to be Frank Raul Duval, the founder of Sansha, one of the famous global pointer producers, who invented innovative ballet slippers on a separate sole, as well as a passionate fan of Russia and Russian art.

And in M ​​he came to the workshop of Alexander Brodsky. Nothing interfered with their communication: Frank knows six languages, including Russian. Sasha began to show Frank his work and he took 12 of them to buy. How to buy? The artist did not understand the prices then, in the art business even more so, the paintings for him were like children and was not going to part with them. But it was impossible to abandon Frank's offer.

He then said to Alexander literally the following: “I fly a lot, I have a house in Paris, I have a house in Gong Kong. I have been looking for an artist for a long time. So finally I found him-it's you. " And then Frank decided to arrange Sasha a personal exhibition in Gong Kong. Since Gong Kong at that time was still considered a British colony, Sasha had to go to the embassy of the United Kingdom after receiving a passport, where endless checks began, but he was still given a visa.
